Sport Ortho Chooses Southeast Nashville
A Conversation with Micah Allison

October 21, 2024

For seven years, Sport Ortho has been a trusted name in Southeast Nashville’s healthcare landscape, providing full-service orthopedic care and physical therapy services. Under the leadership of Micah Allison, the clinic has seen impressive growth and is now doubling down on its commitment to the neighborhood. Sport Ortho will expand its footprint and acquire naming rights at the Crossings Medical Plaza in 2025. With a brand-new expanded space on the horizon, Sport Ortho’s role in the Southeast Nashville neighborhood is growing.

A Neighborhood on the Rise

Southeast Nashville has experienced a wave of positive development, and Sport Ortho is right at the center of this transformation. “The area has really grown, with nearby attractions like the Tanger Outlets, the revitalized Global Mall, and the upcoming Chinatown development,” Micah explains. These assets don’t just make Southeast Nashville a more attractive place to live—they also enhance the lives of Sport Ortho’s employees and patients.

One of the major advantages of Sport Ortho’s location is its proximity to I-24. Being situated near a major corridor allows easy access for patients not only from Southeast Nashville but also from the surrounding areas, with just a 25-minute drive to both downtown Nashville and Murfreesboro. “We’re ideally located for people across the region,” Micah notes, pointing out how the clinic draws patients from a large catchment area due to its strategic placement. This accessibility has been key to Sport Ortho's success, offering convenience for those commuting from both urban and suburban areas.

Even former occupants in the Crossings Medical Plaza have re-invested in Southeast Nashville, with HCA purchasing nearby land to build their own healthcare facility, which opened in mid-2024.

Meeting the Needs of an Underserved Population

Southeast Nashville is home to Davidson County's largest zip code, and its diverse, often underserved population faces a shortage of convenient healthcare options. Sport Ortho has made it a priority to bridge this gap by offering services tailored to the community. “We’ve purposefully staffed our clinic with physical therapists who speak Spanish and Arabic,” Micah shares. This approach helps foster a sense of trust and loyalty among patients, making Sport Ortho a go-to healthcare provider for many.

Their unique staffing strategy has also fueled the clinic’s growth through word-of-mouth promotion, further establishing them as an invaluable community resource.

Expanding Services to Serve the Growing Demand

As Sport Ortho prepares to open its new, expanded space, its business model also has plans to adapt. Their approach to combining physical therapy and orthopedic care under one roof sets them apart from many other healthcare providers. This dynamic offering allows for a more seamless, integrated patient experience and positions Sport Ortho as a leader in comprehensive care.

The clinic has also branched out into the local sports scene, providing event coverage for school athletics and community sports like soccer and rugby. This initiative allows Sport Ortho to not only care for young athletes but to grow alongside them as they move into adulthood.

To meet the growing demand for orthopedic musculoskeletal care, Sport Ortho is committed to deepening its continuum of care by offering advanced imaging services. “With two MRI machines conveniently located in Antioch and Murfreesboro, we ensure that patients in this region have access to the healthcare they need without having to travel far,” Micah notes.

A Bright Future

With its longstanding presence and continued investment in Southeast Nashville, Sport Ortho is more than just a healthcare provider—they’re a cornerstone of the neighborhood. As they build out a larger, more functional space, Sport Ortho is reinforcing its commitment to a community on the rise.

“We’re excited to continue serving Southeast Nashville,” says Micah. “This is where we’ve built our business, and this is where we plan to stay and grow.”

In a rapidly evolving neighborhood, Sport Ortho stands as a testament to the power of reinvestment and dedication to community healthcare.
